Cottage summary
The White House
The White House brings a little New England charm to the heart of White Sand, with weatherboarded good looks, easy beach living and plenty of space for a family seaside escape.
The White House is on the White Sand development in Camber and is looked after by Beside the Sea Holidays, local hosts since 2009.
Inside, there’s room to gather, sprawl and settle in — from long, lazy suppers in the spacious kitchen-diner to garden meals after sandy days at Camber. The dual-aspect living room is made for softer evenings, board games, films and putting your feet up after a day by the sea.
The house sleeps up to 9 guests, but it’s best suited to families rather than groups of 9 adults. The ideal mix is up to 6 adults and 3 children, with the layout working especially well for family holidays, multi-generational breaks and relaxed stays with children.
Camber Sands is just a few minutes’ stroll away, while Rye’s cobbled streets, cosy pubs, independent shops and lovely places to eat are 3.8 miles down the road.
A bright, relaxed seaside home for beach days, garden time and proper family time by the coast.
Midweek two-night stays from £420, October to December, cleaning included, nothing added at checkout.

Dining & Lounging
The White House is made for easy family time, with a lovely dual-aspect living room that gives everyone space to settle in.
There are two relaxed sitting areas, soft sea-blue tones and plenty of comfy seating — perfect for tea by the fireplace, a quiet read, board games, or a film after a beach day.
The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, so family meals feel easy rather than crowded. There’s plenty of worktop space, a dishwasher, and everything you need for breakfasts before the dunes, quick lunches, or a proper seafood supper after a day by the coast.
The dining area sits beside the kitchen and catches plenty of natural light. The table seats up to eight, making it ideal for family meals, children’s teas, or long, relaxed dinners with the French doors open to the garden for a little Camber breeze.
Bed & Bath
The master bedroom is its own peaceful second-floor retreat. Wake up in a king-size bed and glimpse the marshland through the windows, then get ready in an en-suite with shower before seizing the day.
Also on this floor is the third bedroom with twin bunks and a single pullout bed. Let the little ones drift off to dreamland in this sailboat-themed space.
On the first floor is a second king-size bedroom with its own charming Juliet balcony.
The fourth bedroom with twin single beds dressed in cheerful patterns is located on the ground floor. The White House is the perfect setting for family getaways and friend groups alike.
There is a family bathroom on the second floor which features a bath and shower. On the ground floor you will find a wc.

Camber’s huge sandy beach on your doorstep, lots of great places to go for walks and even dog friendly pubs so that you can both enjoy a relaxing drink after a day of sniffing about on the dunes!
The White House is perfectly located on the East Sussex/Kent border allowing you to explore two of England’s loveliest and most historic counties, East Sussex’s 1066 Country and Kent’s Garden of England. Being only one and a half hours from London you can also make the most of what the capital has to offer, take in a show in the West End, shop in Oxford Street or visit the many iconic sites.
The White House is just a short walk from Camber Sands. This wide, dune enclosed sandy beach is over 2 miles long and is the perfect spot in which to breathe in the exhilarating sea air. The village and dunes were once the haunt of smugglers, whose ill-gotten gains accounted for the prosperity of neighbouring Rye.
The cottage offers easy access to the UK’s finest beach, ideal for flying kites, making sand castles and spending relaxing family time. This wide open space is popular with windsurfers, bathers and horse riders and there is a network of footpaths and cycle routes criss-crossing the nearby wildlife reservation.
Nearby Rye has a rich and colourful history. Its cobbled streets, enchanting church and beautifully preserved buildings are proof of the towns’ importance as a medieval Cinque Port.
Rye played an important part in the defence of the realm. Local fortifications like Camber Castle are now popular tourist attractions. Perched on a hill overlooking the marshes, Rye is the perfect place to explore, shop and eat out. Its charming ancient streets are filled with a great selection of independent retailers, restaurants, pubs and a weekly market.
With the blend of tradition and culture in Rye and the beauty and tranquillity of Camber Sands, The White House is ideally positioned to enjoy the very best this unique corner of England has to offer.
