Cottage summary
Welcome to The Rock
The Rock is a bright, contemporary holiday cottage on the White Sand development at Camber Sands — just a short walk from the dunes. It sleeps six across three bedrooms, welcomes dogs, and comes unusually well equipped for families with babies and toddlers.
Inside, the look is calm and considered: soft neutral tones, clean lines, and those small boutique touches that make everything feel easy. The separate living room — with its feature media wall, glowing electric fire and huge 65″ TV with Sky Stream — is made for slow evenings after a day on the beach.
Outside, the fully enclosed south-facing garden is a proper suntrap with room to eat, play and let the dog potter. And when you fancy cobbles, coffee and a wander, historic Rye is just 10 minutes down the road.

Inside the cottage
Living room
The separate lounge is the real highlight in the evenings. A sleek feature media wall holds a huge 65″ TV with Sky Stream and a large electric fire — perfect for film nights, blankets and slow wind-downs on the L-shaped sofa. This room is entirely separate from the kitchen and dining area, so there’s no clatter while someone’s watching a film.
Kitchen & dining
The kitchen/dining room has everything you’d need for proper home cooking: oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle and toaster, plus all the cookware, crockery and utensils you’d expect. There’s also a washer/dryer — invaluable after a sandy beach day.
Large doors open from the dining area straight onto the south-facing garden, giving you that easy indoor-outdoor feel on warm days. The dining table seats six comfortably. There’s a Smart TV in here too.
Bedrooms & bathrooms
- Bedroom 1 (king-size): En-suite bathroom with shower and basin. Smart TV.
- Bedroom 2 (double): Seaside-inspired décor, calm and comfortable.
- Bedroom 3 (twin): Two single beds — works well for children.
- En-suite bathroom: Shower and basin (attached to master).
- Family bathroom: Bath with overhead shower, WC and basin, with artful tiling.
The garden
The fully enclosed, south-facing garden at The Rock is one of those spaces that makes summer stays feel especially easy.
Sunny, private and beautifully planted, it’s a lovely spot for slow breakfasts, lazy lunches and a glass of something cold after a day on the beach. There’s a large outdoor table at the centre, built-in seating along the edges, and enough greenery to make it feel peaceful and tucked away.
For families, it gives you a safe little outdoor space to spill into when the children need fresh air. For dogs, the enclosed garden means they can potter about happily while you sit back with a coffee.
On warm days, it becomes a natural extension of the house — relaxed, sheltered and made for long, easy afternoons outdoors.
Your questions answered
How far is the beach?
Camber Sands beach is a short walk from The Rock — you can be on the sand in a few minutes. The beach is one of the few genuinely sandy beaches in East Sussex, with miles of open dunes, shallow paddling water and big skies. It’s a proper bucket-and-spade beach for kids, and dogs love it too.
Is The Rock dog-friendly?
Yes — The Rock is a dog-friendly holiday cottage. Bowls are provided and the rear garden is fully enclosed, so your dog can roam safely while you relax on the deck.
From the cottage, it’s a short walk to one of the best dog-friendly beaches in the south east. In summer (May–September), dogs are welcome in signed dog-friendly zones; from October to April, the whole beach opens up for off-lead runs.

What’s provided:
- Travel cot with mattress
- High chair
- Stair gates
- Baby Björn bouncer
- Potty and toddler step
- Bed guard
- Socket covers and night lights

Is there parking?
Yes — off-road parking for one car is included. Street parking is also available nearby if you need a second space.
Can you visit without a car?
It’s possible, but a car makes life easier. The nearest train station is Rye (about 4 miles away), with connections to Ashford International and onward to London. The Stagecoach 102 bus runs between Rye and Camber, though the timetable is limited outside peak season.
Once you’re at The Rock, you can walk to the beach, the dunes and The Owl pub without needing to drive. For Rye and the wider area, a car (or taxi) is the most practical option.
Is it good for remote working?
The Rock has superfast 500 Mbps fibre broadband — fast enough for video calls, large file uploads and streaming without interruption. There’s a dining table that works well as a temporary workspace, and the separate lounge means someone else can watch TV without disturbing you.
It’s not a dedicated co-working space, but for a few days of remote check-ins combined with a beach break, it works very comfortably.
What can you walk to?
From the front door, you can walk to:
- Camber Sands beach — a few minutes through the dunes
- The Owl pub — a short stroll for food and drinks
- The dune walks — easy, flat routes right from the doorstep
For Rye, local vineyards, Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and most restaurants, you’ll want to drive or catch a bus.
