“sun was shining all the week” April 2015
We, two adults and two children (9 and 13 years old) like the house very much. It was very generously, every child has an own room with a great view in the garden. We like it to sit at the kitchen table and to look in the garden. Every morning we heard only the sea gulls and the sun was shining all the week. 5-10 minutes two walk there is a nice and cheap restaurant “Dunes Bar” (Old Lyd Road, Tel. 01797 224567, www.dunesbarandrestaurant.co.uk). To Rye you need only 10 minutes with the car and there are a lot of nice shops. Anke
“I survived!!!” Dec 2013
The cottage was lovely – I don’t need to tell you that. The weather was crap – but I don’t need to tell you that either. We managed three good walks on the beach though, so not all bad – Boxing Day was like Piccadilly Circus, but Friday there was me, my daughter and 10 others as far as the eye could see!!. I was hoping Rye would have been a bit more beautifully trimmed up for Christmas – but everything was closed and it was a bit grim because of the weather. My ex and his mother and brother arrived lunch time on Christmas Day and left again at 1pm on Boxing Day – so a bit annoying to have booked a large cottage for everyone with a room each because we don’t like each other for what turned out to be one night! Having said all that, my daughter and I had a lovely time and enjoyed the space and apart from Christmas Day when I didn’t leave the kitchen, I had a really chilled out time – helped along by a tooth abscess (which I had to have drained just before I drove down) , antibiotics, a load of painkillers and mucho vino!!!!. I was so tired from doing nothing and all the sea air when I got home Saturday night I went to bed at 10.30pm and slept solidly for 12 hours!!!!
I would like to thank you so much for all your help at such short notice to help us find the right place. I really do appreciate how helpful you personally have been. The whole booking service and confirmation process was so simple and effective I kept double checking everything over and over because it all seemed so easy and pain free. Sadly for you (but happily for us) it will not be the last you hear of us – I have already been talking to my friends about coming back with their children.
May I wish you and yours a very happy and healthy New Year, and very much look forward to being in contact with you again in 2014.
Best wishes Sharon.
“hope to be back soon” Sep 2013
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Skylark Cottage, it was very comfortable and well appointed, a good home from home. it was our first stay on the south coast and we spent lots of time sightseeing, the ladies visited national trust properties, when we played golf, we played Cobden beech and high woods where we enjoyed our golf and were made very welcome, the only downside was the price of the ale? But that didn’t stop us having a great time, hope to be back soon. Roger
“We had a fabulous week” July 2013
Skylark is a beautiful house, well furnished and equipped. We enjoyed many walks along the beach with Meg, our dog, and we loved Rye.
The weather was great – is it always like that in Camber?!!! We’d love to visit again one day.
Also I must just say, you have a very good website. Best wishes Paula.
