Paws By The Sea Guest Book
“By far the most well-appointed, comfortable and beautiful house we have rented” April 2016
What a week! With the outstanding Camber Sands a short (if steep!) walk over the dunes, this house has beyond all we’d want in a holiday home. Although I’m originally a Sussex boy, we still discovered loads of fabulous new places within easy reach.
Things we really enjoyed:
One of the best and I’d guess, cleanest beaches in the UK, seems to have a fantastic light to it – the sand and sky looks like a painting
Rye (Who wouldn’t love it?)
Si Italian on the Quayside in Rye, a lovely, bustling and individual restaurant, great fun and reasonable to boot! Teenager recommendation – The calamari.
Fresh fish shops, one just over the bridge heading into Rye from Camber and one in Dungeness opposite the Pilot pub, in eerily outstanding surroundings, the landscape has got to be seen to be believed. Try the Smoked Prawns when you’re there!
Hythe was a stunning place with fish and chips on the seafront.
The designer outlet Ashford (not far – 20-odd minutes away) – loads of cheap cool stuff to keep teenagers happy
Back to the house:
The attention to detail is fabulous, spacious, comfortable and homely, with lovely local art on the walls, large lounge and open kitchen, a fancy coffee machine, invaluable for the teenager’s Easter revision sessions, a fabby barbecue for my hunter-gatherer moments, great board games supplied – who’d have thought ‘Dog Bingo’ was the best family game on earth? (Still crying with laughter at the thought of it.)
This is a great place to stay – with so much to do and see in the area, we can’t wait to come back.
